Candle Game and/or Alcoholic Truth or Dare

"I don't understand why I have to do this," complained Mari as walked down the hall of the girls dormitory with Sedar at her side.
"It's dormitory bonding exercise," said Sedar as he threaded his arm through hers, leading towards the stairs that led to the upper common room for the boys and girls.
"And if I don't want to 'bond'?" she said with a air quotes and a frown on her face.
          "You really have no choice."
"Everyone has a choice Seddie," said Mari with a frown.  Sedar pulled on her arm more forcefully.
"Well I'm not giving you a choice.  If you had your way, you'd spend all your free time in your dorm and that is not a way for a teenage girl to live," he said with a patronizing pat on her arm he had captured. Mari snarled at the comment.  A ‘typical teen’ was the last thing she wanted to be.  "You are brilliant and a gifted writer, however you still need to work on your social skills."  Sedar looked to the stairs as saw Felix approaching.  "Perfect timing," said Sedar with a grin on his face.  "Good to see you Mr. Carter.  Please escort the reluctant Ms. Spencer to the common room while I go and wrestle Harrison out of his room."  Felix bowed in front of Mari and rose with a smile.  Mari scowled at Felix as he straightened up.
"She'll be in good hands," said Felix to Sedar before he took his leave to find his best friend.
          "I'm still here," she growled.
"You'll be in good hands," said Felix as he lifted her chin and looked directly at her with a grin.  Mari rolled her eyes with a groan.
"You're ridiculous," she said trying hard to hide her smile.
"That's the best you've got for an insult with your vocabulary list?"  Mari rolled her eyes.
“I refuse to be dragged into a ridiculous argument just to prove how extensive my vocabulary is.”
“Now there’s the Mari we all know and love,” replied Felix with a grin as he led to the threshold of the upper common room

"What do you wear to an event like this?" mumbled Harrison.  Sedar shook his head, as he sat on Harrison's bed, watching his best friend riffle through his closet, looking for a suitable outfit.
"Pyjamas, like everyone else," he said in exasperation.
"I can't leave my room in my pyjamas!"
"You're not leaving the building Harrison.  We're just going to the upper common room to hang out with our dorm mates who will also be in pyjamas.  Throw a robe over your pyjamas if it makes you feel more comfortable."
"I'd rather go in my uniform than go in pyjamas," mumbled Harrison
"Fine, since you're already in them."  Sedar sat up from his comfortable position on Harrison’s bed and began to head to the door.
"You're not going to try to change my mind?" asked Harrison, expecting a different answer.
"Waste of my time and I'd like to get to the common room sometime tomorrow morning," said Sedar in a bored tone.
"Then let's go," said Harrison, shoulders slumped and eyes downcast.
"Not like that.  If you're not going in pyjamas, at the very least go for disheveled!Harry look,” said Sedar as he ran his hand through Harrison's carefully maintained hair, messing it up.  “Turn and let me take off your jacket."
"Where do you keep getting these names from?" complained Harrison as he allowed Sedar to remove his tie.
"There's a collection of them," said Sedar.  "The list is carefully maintained by Mari."  Sedar unbuttoned the cuffs and rolled the sleeves up Harrison’s forearms  Looking at his work, Sedar untucked the oxford shirt and began to undo the buttons of his shirt exposing Harrison’s undershirt.  "Much better.  Do you still have your contacts in?"
          "No, I'll go put them-"
"No need.  You're glasses would be much better. Where are-?"
"Night table," mumbled Harrison before Sedar placed them in his hand and turned him to face the mirror.  Sedar smiled at their reflection, his hands resting on Harrison's shoulder, staring at Harrison’s chestnut curly hair before moving to pale blue eyes and then noticed the scowl.  Removing a hand from Harrison's shoulder, Sedar pushed the corners of Harrison's mouth up with his thumb and index fingers.
"Smile, we're going to have fun hanging out with our friends."
"Your friends.  Let's not start the lies and believe that they like me," he said with a scowl.  "Your new BFF especially."
"Well if it's any consolation, she doesn't really like anyone so don't feel special.  Mari only tolerates me because I won't leave her alone.  Besides if you acted the way you do when you're alone with me instead of being a complete jack ass, maybe they would like you," said Sedar as he walked to the door.  He held out his hand to his best friend.
          "Coming?"
Harrison reluctantly placed his hand in Sedar's, before they walked out of the dorm together.

Sedar took a seat on the ground beside Mari and bumped their shoulders together.  She looked at him with a faint smile.
“What did you do to jackass!Harry?” she asked, not hiding the fact that she was staring at the scowling Harrison.  Sedar looked at Harrison with a smile.  Harrison’s scowl lessened when he saw Sedar smiling.
“I turned him into hot!Harry,” he said.  Mari bumped his shoulder to get back Sedar’s attention.
Stop drooling over your makeover work.  You know he’ll turn right back into pumkin!Harry in the morning and all you would have done is lose precious bodily fluids.”
“Mari, don’t be such a hater.  Despite the fact you can’t stand him-“
          “And justifiably so,” interrupted Mari.
“I beg to differ but no tangents while I’m making my points,” he said with a wave of his hand.  “Despite the personality flaws you have found in Harrison, even you have to admit that hot!Harry is a beautiful man to look at.”  Mari opened her mouth to correct.  “Don’t interrupt me.  You know I meant ‘teenage male’.  He’s got a body that he doesn’t know what to do with, a beautiful smile, amazing hair if he stopped putting all that crap product in it and his eyes.  So exotic!  Mari rolled her eyes.
“His last name was [Wong].  I would expect the eyes.
“His eyes are pale blue, naturally!”
“I will admit that physically, irritating!Harry is nice to look at,” said Mari as she dusted off some invisible lint off her lap.  “You’ve just forgotten one important detail.  You’re his best friend and he’s not gay or even bi or even shown you anything that would say he’s anything but a pain in the ass.  I may not be too adept at social protocol, and neither do I care to majority of the time.  However, you are setting yourself up to be hurt.”  Mari rubbed Sedar’s back as she heard him sniff.
“Believe me, the logical part of me knows all of that,” said Sedar as he looked down at the ground in front of him.

AN: this is me trying to get in the head of a few of my characters, the new ones added to the crew that I don't know so well.  I think I'll consider this prepwork for Nano 2011
