Last Weekend, a fantasy fiction - FictionPress.com

Last Weekend, a fantasy fiction - FictionPress.com

For anyone who actually wants to see something I wrote. I did it for NaNoWriMo 2010. It's by no means complete but I think it's decent written at the least.

No title really needed

I've realized my greatest weakness.  Procrastination.  I have at least 2 stories (possibly 3 but it's in the same universe as one of my other stories) that should be working on.  I have the ideas in my head and they've barely made it on paper or the screen.  I'm gonna have to start (or at least attempt) to take like an hour out of each day, just to write to get these things out and feel like I have some kind of accomplishment...back to work anyways.

JulNo Time is Upon Me

*neck crack* Ok, I'm getting ready and I am so excited.  I'm hoping to actually make it to the 50k goal and I think I have a good chance of making it due to my story concept.  I've had the idea since NaNoWriMo2010.

My main character is actually participating in JulNoWriMo2011 for the first time.  She's a wannabe writer who sounds a lot like me so we'll (or I'll) be seeing two stories happen at once.  Both her story about her experience and the story she is writing.

The main character's name is Mari (I really like this name and have 3 characters in total with that name).  She around 30 years old and the oldest of 4 children (Mari, brother who's name starts with an R, Nigel and Autumn).  Mari is generally unmotivated about life.  She has an apartment she shares with her best friend who's name is either Valerie or Vivian and never seems to actually sleep at the apartment.  Mari works almost full time in retail and spends the rest of her time bumming around.  Her two brothers are quite successful in what they do and her little sister acts like a ditzy brat.  Mari is generally not very social, not due to not liking people but by not knowing how to act around them, therefore she tends to only stick to those she's close to and is not willing to really make new friends.

Mari's stories about the goings-on at a private school called Glen Acres Academy.  The cast she working with is long and sprawling and will be written about another time, hopefully before JulNo starts on Friday.

"I don't understand why I have to do this," complained Mari as walked down the hall of the girls dormitory with Sedar at her side.
"It's dormitory bonding exercise," said Sedar as he threaded his arm through hers, leading towards the stairs that led to the upper common room for the boys and girls.

This is me, trying to find a title and coming up blank

What do you do when NaNoWriMo is 7-8 months away, and you have a great idea for a story which manages to incorporate the story you wrote last year (that still remains incomplete) and the other marvelous idea you had during the last week of last year's NaNoWriMo and you don't want to forget the characters and plotlines that you have come up with at 11:30 at night when you should be going to your bed?

Me, I have a piece of paper (and a blackberry memo) with all of the different personality quirks of the characters and certain groups interactions (reading about dorm life at Dalton is so inspiring).  I just started doing this this week.  Let me say, I'm really starting to like my characters and what I hope will come across as 'off-beat'ness.  At the rate I'm going, soon it's not going to be enough but, based on a suggestion I read in a comment in someone's LJ, I think I'm going to do little writing drabbles on the characters thought process.
